I finally got my bnet name change! When I created my first bnet account, I was 19 or whatever and used a fake name because it was the first time I had ever really put my information online and was nervous as hell (lol). Unfortunately for me, the fake name is actually a real name, not like Mickey Mouse or stuff like that. While this wasn't really a huge deal to have a different name, I was nervous that if I would ever lose access to the account, I would have no way to get it back. As this is my main account (since 2008), all the expansions, toons, gold, etc I couldn't just go create a new bnet.

I first ticketed 11 mmonths ago explaining my quandry. I received the copy/paste response of they need legal name change papers, etc. Well I didn't have any of that cause it was a fake name so I was shot down. I tested my luck by making a ticket about every month, always being respectful. Finally yesterday I received a response hinting that if I could provide documents to undoubtedly prove I was the owner of the account, there was a small chance the GM could do something about it.

BA BOOM. I uploaded 20 pages of account purchases, physical CD keys of what I had, my paypal statements with account purchases, and emails from 2008-2016.


I got the response last night claiming that my name had been changed!

So so so so so excited. Again not a huge, huge deal. It was my fault to begin with. But I feel so much more confortable playing when my real name is actually on the account

Yeah I was so excited. I never expected the end result. I highly doubt it could be abused though. Everything I provided was in my real name. Everything purchased for the account was in my real name from 2008-2016. I also had most of the CD Keys (physical) and access to the three email addresses that were used for the account with the confirmations of email changes.

I made the same mistake. I'm tired of people calling me Mr. Long. lol..

I had to make a false name tho because I used to do alot of warring in 98. (Mass flooding, bruting, bots, clan wars on battlenet)

The day they created battle.net online where you could attach all your cdkeys.. i made a huge mistake of attaching my cdkeys/accounts while mass loading a blizzard tech support channel... I usually ran them on proxies so I was always safe... but i accidentally loaded a chat bot on my actual ip and they connected the 2 and mass banned. Everytime I tried to make my actual battle net name on starcraft/diablo/broodwar I would get instant ban. Usually I'd just lose my cdkey, use a generator/change ip and fix the issue.. but in this case they watched my battle account like a hawk. As soon as I attached wow on it at a later date it was banned instantly lol.. so I made new ip/fake name and it looks like a ticket won't save me ha..

My karma for mass loading their tech support with 1k+ bots at once haha. Fun times tho

I did this like 6 months ago and i opened 2 tickets on battle.net and they let me change it. Was a pretty obvious fake name tho

Yeah they will let you do it if its an obvious fake name.

But I used something like Alex Price.
