does your wife play too? if so you should do recruit a friend. you both get like 3x exp when you're leveling together.
hunter is fairly easy to play so you'll do fine.
spam dungeons as much as you can after you hit lvl 15

if you need help pm me and i'll help you in game sometime

I would get someone to Raf with you preferably someone who knows how to play that can help you get some starting Heirloom items, bags, and a mount and flying. I would also get someone who can teach you the ins an outs of most aspects of the game using a communication program like skype or vent.

Ik their are a few people on here always looking for people to Raf with myself being one of them atm i just dont have the time to dedicate to it i was lvling a char every day or 2 but work caught up with me.

but of you an your wife want somthing to enjoy together it can def be fun ik alot of couple in wow that love playing together and knowfew that have broken up over it so could be bad as well lol.

i recommend questing and getting to know the zones so you aren't totally clueless on how to quest when you're level capped if you level by doing nothing but dungeons like a lot of people do. i would do dungeons here and there though so you get the jist of grouping, boss fights etc, plus they are fun. instances are pretty easy and everything dies pretty quickly as you are leveling, and you will understand more mechanics, skill rotations etc once you are higher level (80+ or so)

do not do recruit a friend if you are just starting. you will level way too fast and not really understand anything about the game. you'll be in a zone that's for level 6's and you'll be level 12. leveling used to be more of a grind and is nowhere near that now anyways.

find a guild that's social. progression guilds, pvp guilds etc don't matter at all while leveling up.

buy tabards from your main cities. so if you're rolling a dwarf hunter, your main city would be ironforge. buy their tabard and at exalted you get a 16 slot bag for like 1.5 gold or something cheap like that from each major city.

don't buy from the auction house while leveling up. waste of money when you are starting from scratch and have limited income.

have fun.

have you already made your account with the actual game ? if not and i think you hav up to 30 days to raf a trial i would just start a new account tbh to make sure it works 100% you can even have a gm set it up for you as well

Their really is no point questing through all the old content its mostly for achievements and cosmetics and seeing the world, you should be able to learn the basics from 1-100 even with raf an at lvl 100 everything changes at 100 from your talents, rotation, and stat priority so really your not learning much but the basics how how the spell work and even then some change at 100 with major glyphs.

also since your starting at the very end of this expansion i would highly recommend lvling 1 of each class and finding out what you like to play most and use that as your main for legion also legion is brining in alot of class changes so tbh just rush as manyc hars as you can i got 23 atm and do heroic raiding when i can an im almost fully geared.

also what is your schedule like im usually able to play after 9am till 230 and can some times play after 4 ish i play on hord an ally so i got insight on both also play on high pop servers for hord an ally :) pvp an non pvp

nice! have fun. don't rush leveling one class. we're in a lull between expansions, so you might as well dabble with different classes, factions, etc to see what you enjoy playing the most.
