I've always mained a class that has the capability of tanking/healing, as to not feel trapped and to get faster queue times for most PvE queues + quicker group invites, but literally only care about playing DPS.

How difficult is it to transition to a solo DPS class, to ensure I don't get sidetracked into tanking/healing for the ease of it, so I actually have more fun?

Its not difficult at all, just learn your class and play it like you did with heals or tank
Be prepared to change between specs for some encounters though
the only down is dungeon que times tbh

I didn't mean the physical playing of it, I meant dealing with slower queue times, less frequent group invitations, lack of gear dropping = less progression.

I'm just gonna yolo it and roll Mage or Rogue I guess.

I played fury for 6 years an refused to tank because i sucked at it on warrior que times suck when the content gets dry but when its new/ mid way its pretty good its not instant like heal or tank but their is plenty to do in between que times

2 ways ive learned to deal with dps queue times:

*If I play at a certain time of day, I start to develop a rough idea of how long queues take. Once I get it, I'll queue up and then go do something else for a bit. Eat something, take a shower or whatever. When I come back, I've knocked off a chunk of the queue time without feeling like I was waiting. Sure, it occasionally backfires and I miss the queue, but more often than not it works out. If you were in the shower and missed the queue, you didn't really "lose any time".

*Find something work on while you are in queue. Could be a random achievement in old content, something that will make gold, a transmog, or something like that. Once you find something that fits and settle into a routine, the time will just fly by.

never get declined from a group

Arcane mage is the fucking ultimate dpser.


8 arcane mages - perfect set of dpsers so i doubt that any1 would decline your Group requests.
I used to play frost mage but arcane is OP asf especially with class trinket and manno trinket.

I just play with friends that are heal or tank spec, never really had an issue with queues tbh
