people that don't have time to farm for gold in game but do have disposal real world income are able to purchase a token on the blizzard website. they can then list this token on the auction house for whatever its current value is. when a player buys the token on the auction house, the gold is sent to the token seller. the player then receives the token they bid on like a normal auction. they can either redeem it for 1 month of game time immediately, or they can let it sit in their bags and activate when needed. even if their subscription expires, they can log in and renew through the character selection screen and select an option to then redeem the token to reactivate.
this allows a legitimate way for players to purchase gold with real world currency. it also allows people with a lot of excess gold to buy game time and save their real world money.
buying a wow token with real cash is a ripoff...... 20$ for what.... 25k?
or pay that 20$ for 50-60k......
