-When you enter a battleground or arena, the game will set your stats from your spec, not your gear. This means all of your stats will come from a template specific to your spec. If one spec isn't doing well in PvP, their spec's template can be tuned individually.

-PvP Talents try to take the place of the progression that came from gear.

-Trinkets, set bonuses, and enchants will not be active in PvP.

-Once players reach the max PvP level, they can reset it to gain a Prestige level. This gives access to different cosmetic rewards.

-When a player reaches PvP level 10 (roughly 20% of the way there), they will have unlocked an option in every row.


hmm looks like this will kill off any twinking or customization but everyone will be on equal footing. That prestige and new pvp option sounds like something straight outta CoD or something

The game has been out long enough that I'm ok with them trying something like this.

Not super excited about it, but it does solve alot of issues and I will be interested to see how it turns out.

"twinking is dead" ... they said that at the end of cata with resil normalization and yet people still twink.

So basically they are changing it to be like Tera bgs (http://tera.enmasse.com/game-guide/battlegrounds/corsairs-stronghold/) where you get equalized gear, and pvp spell coefficients... aka what every successful korean game does. It's a shame that trinkets won't fix pvp, it's the pve skill design.

Be happy you don't "rebirth" and gain extra stats when you Prestige.

Honestly I am not too excited about the changes, but I'm hoping as it gets closer to release they will be making some adjustments. Realistically people are already pretty even when it comes to gear (mmr sort of handles it, but it isn't really a big issue for MOST pvpers...maybe their alts).


We'll see where it goes.

I don't mind the changes, and it won't kill twinking. You have probably been in the 10-19 bracket and noticed that players without a lot of heirlooms (usually new players) get annihilated and rage quit. I have been in numerous BG's where our only healer has 500-800 life (0 heirlooms) and is in all reality useless. I am glad in a way that they are finally addressing that issue, however I do dislike the loss of enchants and trinkets a lot of the fun in making twinks came from the grind for all of the gear and then enchanting all of it properly.

i hope they allow some way to choose weather u get +damage or +survivability depending on what team u fight

I miss the aspect with gems where u could go full resil vs one team u know is gonna attack u then swap to full int or w/e vs teams u know wont kill u

the fact that all the spells are intended for pve is a huge problem :\

i don't think they are gonna be able to fix a design flaw like that

but being able to spec into either dmg or mitigation is a good idea
