Pretty much all i would probably do is farm lower content until i decided to buy the expansion, but i was wondering if it was still possible, or if anything has been increased in difficulty with the expansion

u will still be able to solo old raids

you can do any old content you typically did before, it is all the same.

It got even easier for me on rogue.. leeching poison heals me to full health on like 1 sinister strike on any legacy raid, OP as shit.

Old content got easier as with every xpac
The crunch was just visual

stat crunch doesn't negatively effect you, it's just a visual thing. so your level 90 items are going to look like lvl 25 items until you get used to it.
