why do people care about names on wow.. i understand on d2 why names are cool, but in wow, it's pointless imo.

ive cared about them since vanilla, now that they made it pretty simple to get good ones, doesnt really matter, but I still like having decent ones

names are just as pointless in d2.

you can just make a ticket asking a GM to free the name up for you, usually they can but sometimes they cant

They can only free up names on inactive accounts, I think the only time they free up names that are active is if the person is just hoarding names.

with the new thing released if it hasnt been online for awhile it'll be flagged so you can take it AFAIK

submit a ticket with a large list, you'll get a few. I made a rogue a few months back and they freed up Sinister for me...



I had them free up a name for me during BC cause I told them I'd server transfer if I got it. It's usually if the character is under a certain level (20 I think) and has been inactive for longer then 3 months I believe
