If you really did play back then no its not worth it, its not even close to what it was
Its way much easier to play now
Then again if you have time and really want to try it out again, why not just play it
it can be fun if you find a good community to play with just like any other game

I started a few months ago in your same position.

I raided in MC / BWL, BC was about to came out and I quit. Didn't even look it up since then.

I have really been enjoying everything, exploring old legacy content, collecting mounts, world bosses, and current content. WOW itself has come along so much it's so hard to explain all the changes.

I am really really happy i pulled the trigger and started again, it's been fun. Give it a try.
