I'm returning to WoW, and obviously, I'm a bit of a noob despite that I have a 100 Shaman too, as I just got done playing through the new expansion and doing all the garrison stuff. It was a lot of fun, yet, I'm not too thrilled about starting this Apexis crystal grind to gear up for PvE and I haven't been enjoying Ashran too much for my PvP.

I really just want to play a a new Shadow Priest and so I've recently started a new level 30 Priest (alliance) w/ all the heirlooms (except the fishing quest ring). Is there a quick way to essentially power-level from 30-60? My favorite part of WoW was the 60-80 content, and I'd like to get to those expansions quickly. I'm really not enjoying the grind through Stranglethorn Vale or the other 30-40 zones (Desolace, etc) and I don't like a lot of the 40-50 zones either that are upcoming. So I'd like to sort of breeze through these zones quickly and I'm not too keen on paying a stranger to level my account through D2JSP.

I've heard people talk about grouping with a higher level and clearing instances for quick experience when combined with an experience potion. Is this a thing? Or is that mainly for higher level players? I've seen online people say it should only take a few hours to get large chunks of levels, I'm following a questing guide I found online and it has helped slightly, but, I mean it isn't anything super fast. I'm finding it hard to believe people are actual able to level as quickly as they claim on the WoW forums and on these forums.

So could someone please link me a to a good leveling guide for these levels or explain to me how the exp potion + dungeon instance stuff works? I'm just shocked at all these people claiming they can get like 1-60 in a day or so, and here I am going at what appears to be a significantly slower pace. What am I missing?

Thanks in advance for any advice. Obviously my google-fu is horrible - so any links or advice is welcomed. Thanks.

Apexis crystal grind is unnecessary,
You can gain entry level raid ilvl with dungeons instead.

Level as discipline or Holy. Queue for dungeons. Should be low wait times as healer. Then swap back to shadow when you're ready to quest. Just my opinion

Just do LFR to gear for raids, if you can't get in LFR yet just do heroic dungeons until you can do LFR. Once you reach 630+ you should be able to do normal HM and LFR to gear for BRF. It is so simple that children do it all the time.

In no point in this process do you NEED to do the Apexis crystal grind. I get them simply to buy my bonus rolls.

1-60 easy in a day. Que as disc and shield the tank. Have all your heirloom gear. Level 47-58 que only prison block. In block use the mole machine trick. 47-58 in less then one hour. Rest of prior levels just bash random que.. Dont ever quest.

i go from lvl 1-90 in less than 12 hours played time with heirlooms. The only shortfall will be that you will need a willing friend whos going to play tank for you or yourself play as a tank.

Thanks for the information guys, I do appreciate it.

I just did 10 dungeons and got from 31-35 -- it took me about an hour and a half to do those ten dungeons.

Certainly faster than questing, however, I still find it hard to believe you guys are doign stuff like 1-90 in less than 12 hours. When it's taking me 1.5 hours to get 4 levels. I thought my groups were fast too, we didn't have any deaths in all of my runs and everything went smoothly... Hmmm. I have all heirlooms too, oh well. I'll keep grinding dungeons, and report back later.

Thanks for info.

at like lvl 50, you just queue detention center. take the machine right of the instance and jump to the last two bosses. kill both in 5 minutes, which gives you 1/3 of your xp bar, then re-queue for the same dungeon again.

So it was slow pounding dungeons until 37ish --- Then I did 37-58 in under two hours, 47-58 in basically half an hour. But grinding speed for dungeons really picks up in the late 30s. So yea pounding dungeons is super fast compared to questing. I definetly can see how some people can do like 1-60 in only a few hours. Dungeons >>>>>> Questing at this stage in WoW with the state of everyone having heirlooms and just facerolling content. I haven't gone below 80% mana I don't think ever in a dungeon so far.
