Write a ticket. If he posted the loots rules before you guys started, GMs will take the item away from him.

Since when do GMs interfere with loot distribution?

They dont anymore, ML has right to do anything. Dont bother ticketing it because you wont get the result you were hoping for.

Even if they state loot rules the most that will be done is the item will be taken away.

Simple solution: always check the wow forums for the ML's name or guilds name to see if anyone has made a "ninja loot warning" thread.

I sincerely doubt that blizzard would ever remove an item from anyone's inventory simply for the act of 'ninja looting'
and I would be very disappointed if they did.

Did this ever really happen?

Proof.

They definitely will take away the ninja looted item, they however will not reward it to the person who actually won the roll. It's a lose/lose situation.

They delete dupes if caught so why wouldn't they delete ninja looted items?

Because dupes are cheats.
Ninja looting is a game mechanic.

Also, proof of the existance of dupes?

You're oblivious man. What proof do you need?
Jeweled Onyx Panthers cost like 80k to make. People sell them for 30k.
