just started playing a hunter this xpac. casually got to 100 recently after idling my druid around for a while.

anyways what are "the" specs for pve/pvp? i am currently running mm for heroics and am ilvl 629. i keep hearing things about survival for pve though. offspec is bm for solo/duo with gf's squishy mage.


assume pvp is survival

I feel like survival is the most well rounded spec - no movement restraints (MM is limited by sniper training) good sustained. The worst part about sv atm to me is they removed kill shot. It is definitely the spec that suffers least from movement.
/e obv bm is for downy morons (it's my os as well for soloing or whatever as well :p)

I like Beastmaster in Pvp atm. Burst is nasty. Survival for PVE with multistrike is nice. Once you get Scales of Doom off heroic butcher In highmaul survival rocks.

which talents do you go for as survival at 60, 75, 90, 100?

At 60 I use Steady focus. 75- A Murder of Crows 90- Inbetween Barrage or Glaive toss for fights such as Kargath stands etc, Tectus Aoe Mainly Barrage for them. 100- Lone Wolf atm Testing it out.

Thrill of the hunt
Crows
Always take barrage(only use it when there's 2+ targets, glaive toss and barrage are a dps loss on single target)
Lone wolf

For level 100 talent focusing shot is better but just by a tiny bit so if there's no movement like on butcher use that but use steady focus with focusing shot. Otherwise its always thrill of the hunter and lone wolf
