was thinking of playing a paladin, are these still any good? otherwise what is the 'best' dps class atm?

I am currently leveling a ret pala, and i like it so far. seems really easy at leveling.
I also heard they're decent in pve
I know they're good in pvp

Don't know much about pve dps, but i can tell ya that ret does insane dmg in pvp, just like always.
