When I first started this game I boosted a hunter and rolled survival.

After being ridiculed for being a huntard, having the lowest DPS consistently in raids with similar item level toons, and overall not enjoying my gameplay, i'm wondering if this character is salvageable at all or if I should just reroll as a mage.

I mean, all the specs seem viable right now. Many going beast though as damage is still quite good and you can get a core hound or something similar since it has raid wide bloodlust for a special.

Survival got shafted pretty hard. I'd say BM is probably your best bet.
