One of the best ways that you can level as a mage in AOE farming.
To be aible to do this you need to know not only how to do it,
but where the correct locations and mobs are for this method.

Also alot of the mobs values and attcks are different from those of the private servers,
so if you want to level efficient as a mage, you need to have alot of knowlage and you need to get infront of the pack,
so you have zones and spots that are free for you.

If you want to be good as mage you need alot of knowlage and you need to play hardcore.

Do you think warlock is a good starter noob friendly char to get into the game? Ice been watching some youtube videos on it and it's fairly straight forward. And my brother who played vanilla said PVE servers are shit and get amalgamated after a month or so so I might as well learn the hard wat on pvp

I think it's a good choice for you. Very versatile character with variety of different builds. Free mount at 40 (complete a quest), self maintaining mana/life with life tap & cannibalize.

Be sure to check Karkoz leveling guides and wand progression before you head out if you already haven't.

Peace!

Play gnome mage if alliance or undead if horde. Mage takes skill to be good but its the best starting character for gold in classic. Easy to learn and easy money porting people lol. Warlock is also pretty good for leveling to be good it takes alot of skill and knowledge.

Rule #1 you turn with your mouse, not your keyboard. Unbind the keyboard turn keys to spells, which brings us to; (W = move forward, A = strafe left, D = strafe right)

Rule #2 use keybinds to cast, don't click the spells to cast, because you use mouse to turn. (except for some like drinking or summon pet, or things you don't need mid combat)

Rule#3 learn to use macro's. Particularly cast sequence macros, so each press casts a new spell, also pet attack if you are hunter or lock.

Rule#4 Generally Use TAB to target!

There are a bunch of other things to learn as well, but doing keybinds, turning properly, and macros will set the foundation and muscle reflex you will need to excel at the game early on.

I am wondering what the most noob friendly toon to roll is. I am leaning toward hunter but every other video says different shit lol

Dude hunter is A1. A hunter was my first toon on wow when I started back in 05 and it's simple. You'll get the hang of it easily so theres no reason to sweat it.

What server are you going to start on? I'll be on Whitemane with an undead warlock.

Yes learn to "tab target" and controlling the camera with your mouse.
