Blizzard merged with Activision back during BC days. The merger cost quite a bit, if not billions. However, it was speculated to grow their income by 94%
Activision doesn't give a shit about blizzard's rep, just the money they can make them.
Game is definitely dying, as in losing majority of it's old and newer player base. I doubt it will ever die completely, but their profits will suffer greatly. Especially with them pumping out random shit to keep their current player base busy.
To add onto this, the only people still playing are the people who have nothing else to do in their free time.
There are many many better games out right now regardless of what others may think.
I thoroughly enjoyed playing in my second tenure (MoP ToT -> BRF) but Blizzard really needs to think about what the fan base wants and not what makes them the most money.
