The truth is..... Most mmos, even the biggest mainstream ones, still don't match up to wow and have a ridiculously low playability life.
I haven't played wow in 3 years, and have played swtor, gw2, ff15aar, and tried out Tera/rift and they just don't last.
I want to love swtor, I want to love gw2 and ff15, but it just gets boring too quickly and I also don't have nearly enough time to play video games anymore.
This is what I truly believe.....
If you have played mmorpgs for a long time, 5, 10+ years, there's a good chance you simply have exhausted the genre with your own mentality. Yes, each game has its differences, but they are essentially the same. If you love to a different game and have no one to play with, it certainly adds to the decay of the game faster.
Maybe it's time to move to a different genre of gaming, try games designed for a single player experience.
I don't think most games are "bad", I just believe most gamers have played too much and have exhausted themselves believing that the experience just isn't the same anymore.
