Its definitely for clickbait. However, blizzard isnt helping the cause. The tier releases are slowing down. This causes such a content drought that more and more people quit in between tiers. Yes most come back, but some dont. Is it dying, na. Unless you want to play the fotm rpg every other month you end up coming back because starting over in rpgs gets old af.

Its mismanagement of resources (developer time). There have been plenty of articles from current and ex employees explaining how they rip devs from project to project to meet deadlines.

When wow is awful its still a decent mmo as long as it has some sort of content patches coming out. This is been the worst drought for the game yet and they still haven't announced the next raid tier. People are pissed because they spend money on the box price, the monthly sub, and mtx/services for a game thats in standby mode.

Other mmos arent relevant to what I said. Blizzard/Act started diablo immortal and in general neglected their pc/console market to tend to the phones. Dont you guys have phones? They only did that because the phone games make more than cod and wow combined.

And even then. Other mmos exist but they arent doing that much better than wow. Again not that I was speaking about other mmos, just blizzard. But if you want to bring up other mmos, yes they exist. But they still dont make as much money as the top phone games. Look into whatever company owns an mmo that makes more than wow and I guarantee you their portfolio also has a mobile game that makes more money than whatever mmo it is.

Diablo immortal isn't even being made by activision blizzard. You are conflating the success of mobile games with the failures of management from the top down. The same companies with mobile games are still making mmos and investing in them because they print money.

activation isn't diverting funds from wow to mobile games, they're cutting them from blizzard and sending them to cod. Blizzard had 8 dev teams all working on separate projects and 6 of them were scrapped. They have nothing to show for years of work and thats why they were forced to announce wc3 reforged before it even began development.. Same with d4.
