so I just need to keep going and at some point I'll be able to respec for real. because atm i only have a "trial" lvl 100 char. only has like 6 spells

They only have "one" spec to choose from sometimes 2 I'm not sure since Mage is a pure dps class, but once you complete the little training session and the mini quest. You'll be able to respec.

But I believe if it has the ability to be dps/tank/heals you may be able to choose but I'm not sure.
