Those of us who can't raid in a 13/13 carry group, who only have a couple of 100s that don't pay attention to garrison shit and don't have a lot of capital to start with.

Having a couple 100's and "ignoring" garrisons - you're losing A LOT of gold that only takes 20 minutes to do...

I don't see it. I get a couple of missions now and again for followers that give 60 gold or so. Not even worth it. I don't have any oil so I can't do shipyard missions and I only have like 4 level 100 followers. I only use my garrison to level up my mining and herbalism.

i have 8x 100 lv and get from garrision mission gold/ressources around 90k . Eu token costed 83k last time and i buy it every month. Never go ship/mine/herb too far for me ;p

PART TWO!

It is 100% true, you need gold to make gold. Best way I found to get quick gold is hopefully a buddy will loan you some to get started. BUT if you're new or just coming back and don't know anyone. Here are a few ways to make gold.

*Run TBC and Cata Raids:
1) To do this properly, you need to either be enchanter OR simply invite someone who is enchanter to group and let them afk(but they need to be online in order to get the DE option)
2) Pretty much clear all TBC raids, if your looking for most efficient(SKIP Battle for Mount Hyjal) the waves and length takes to long compared to the rest of the raids.
- For TBC this means Kara/Gruul's Lair/Magtheridon/SSC/TK/Black Temple/Sunwell Temple(If you want and have time, clear Mount Hyjal)
- For Cata this means BWD/BoT/Firelands/Dragon Soul(Throne of 4 winds is worthless, 2 bosses only loot) UNLESS YOU WANT THE MOUNT.
- Another really good one to run is Throne of Thunder. Again you need enchanter for this to be worth, you DE literally everything(Obviously you can keep the items for Xmog if you want) but cutting into gold. Don't both farming Mogu Coins to bonus roll and DE those items(Not worth the time) UNLESS you have bunch of Timeless coins saved up then go for it!

For the TBC raids, you can straight sell the DE materials on AH, but before you do get enchanter to Shatter the void crystals into Large Prismatic Crystals X2. Then sell them off, or if you are enchanter you can make some of the lower enchants OR just make 100% Mongoose enchants(950-2500g each) They sell quite frequently
Also turn the Netherweave Cloth into bags and sell those on AH. You can turn the epic gems into cut gems people buy for Timewalking BIS gear or just sell them uncut for quick sale. Make sure you check all the patterns you get from these raids and make sure none are world drop patterns(can normally tell by the ilvl of the pattern) Also if you have TSM you will see a higher than normal Market Value on the item. Few of the Sunwell patterns sell for 2000-10000g each.

For the Cata raids, you can also straight sell the DE materials on AH, but before you do get enchanter to Shatter the maelstrom crystals into Heavenly Shard X2. Then sell them off, or if you are enchanter you can make some enchants, Mainly want to do the base stat glove enchants, bunch of other good enchants you can do as well. Can turn the cloth into bags or just sell as bolts(never sell as basic cloth) you can get 2x-3x more for bolts. When running dragon soul you can get the epic gems after each run for turning in the fragments, These gems sell for really good gold for Timewalking gear(I can get 2500g for the red ones normally) Again check your patterns before you vendor them, some of these are rare and hard to come by. I know i sold a few of the Firelands patterns for 5000g+ a couple of times.

For the MoP raid, you are 100% after just the DE materials from this raid(DON'T DE ANY GREEN OR BLUE) these vendor for more gold(normally) The material is called Haunting Spirit, you get this from DE any raid item that drops in Throne of Thunder only. If you can't get enchanter don't run this raid for gold. Unless your geared you can't solo this raid, so find another person who wants to do these and split everything down the middle. You can use the Sha Crystals to turn into enchants as well, or sell as rare material(don't shatter these)

OH! If you are a miner, you can farm Molten Core. When you do this best to be miner on a class that can drop combat and move quickly(Rogue/Druid) You can also get the Movement trinket from world boss Kazzak. All you do is run around and mine the Dark Iron Nodes. You also kill every single Molten Destroyer(DON'T KILL ANY BOSSES, if you pull a boss by mistake and can't invis then run out of the raid to reset him) I can't remember how much I averaged per hour when I was doing this. 3-6 Blood of the Mountains and 200-400 Dark Iron Ore. I think(don't quote me here) You can turn all these materials to craft the Sulfuron's Hammer and sell for 20,000-50,000 each.


You don't want to rely on your Garrisons to make gold, they will be gone in legion and you will have to find another way to make gold. Use it while it lasts. Get those Treasure Finders + Salvage guys and earn mass gold+garrison resources. You turn the GR into crafting reagents when they are 4 GR each at the Trading Post. Also smart to do naval missions, I get hundreds of the Baleful gear PER week and just DE them all and make lot of gold. Every level 100 should have the salvage yard and do the missions 2-4 times a day. There is hundreds of thousands of gold in these crates

Please note that these guides are going off the assumption that you are running TSM and know what each item you DE market value is. if the market value is high and you can sell it for decent gold(then do that) I personally don't deal with items under 1000g market value.


If your on a small realm and xmog doesn't sell, best way to get start up gold is just vendor everything from all raids. If you have two accounts, you can dual box the Cata raids for double the raid boss gold(1 person 125 gold each, 2 people 125g each, then goes down) at least last time i did this(4 months ago)

I dont want to spam your guide which is awesome and helped me a lot. Like seriously I made like 1 mil gold last month (previously my monthly income was like 200-300k) but i'd add fishing to this guide. If you have maxed out fishing and level 3 fishing shack you can get frostdeep minnows which sell on my server for 1-2k each. I usually get like 2-3 minnows every 10 minutes with 1100 fishing skill (worm supreme, fishing hat and fishing pole).
You can get 2 mounts (tcg riding turtle mount and sea turtle mount) from minnows so those little shits sell super quick.

on wowhead it says the minnows are BOP. is that just a misprint or did I misunderstand the post?

edit: after further reading, it says you can give items away after inviting someone to your garrison. Is this the way to do it?
