well then, u have it backwards
the new game is particularly NOT for someone living in their mom's basement it's more for casuals. vanilla was the one that was made for no-lifers.
the new expansions are less targeted towards that. WoD is for people that wants to only play 5hrs/week
I think you have it a bit backwards here. While Vanilla certainly takes more effort to get exceptionally geared, large time investment isn't persay needed. It's also skewed by the fact that when Vanilla was live most people were younger and had LOTS more freetime, so its easy to look back and think "wow that expac required you to be no life mode."
Vanilla is an expac where you set your pace of progression. If you want to take 6-12 months to level 1-60 it doesn't really detract from your experience. Especially because the content will remain the same with not patches or expacs. Whereas in WoD+ you can hardly level that slow even if you try, there is no "pacing" unless you're blatantly playing the game wrong.
I just feel like you're pushed into the content much harder now overall, in vanilla you can pick whatever you want to do. If i try and do "something different" in WoD i either get bored out of my mind in 1 day or (life RDF) can't find anyone to run with. If you dont like bad PVP or Raid finder you're pretty shit outta luck.
