You know how a dealer will sometimes start watering down his product after he builds up a solid customer base, counting on their addiction to keep his business afloat? That watered-down version is basically what the game has become now, so I wouldn't suggest hopping on now.

As an addict, I'm still playing casually because I need my fix from time to time.

No one really cares if you play mate, game is 10 years old.. play if you want or if you dont want, dont play it.
What the fuck is this "reasons to play or not".. just play if you dont like stop playing, fucking simple isnt it?

 mad at the world much?

WoW is a very time consuming game but is also probably the most fun game that I've ever played... I recommend trying it, just don't let it consume your life like 90% of the people that play it.

Edit: all of this talk about WoW being a game you can't play casually is completely off base... It's correct to say you won't have the top tier gear and be raiding with the best guilds, but there's no reason you can't casually level, do pvp, do use the LFR to have plenty of fun and still see the sunshine sometimes.

Vouch, I play super casually (sometimes go 2-3 weeks between log ins) and I still made it through norm mode archi in this expansion easily.

@OP, I'd recommend picking it up if you're looking for something to play over time if you don't mind the sub fee, otherwise it can be pretty spendy to play casually.

Hey guys, so I used to play diablo and runescape back in the day and was always a fan. I'm thinking of getting WoW and playing casually off and on. I know nothing about WoW, any reasons why I should or shouldn't?

for 20 bucks you can play for a month and try it. this allows you to see 1-90 which is a good indecation of the game.

if you get to 60 and enjoy the new zones you will be hooked.

so you made it to 60 and like the game now you hit level 90

you spend $50 and get from 90-100.

fair warning once you hit 100 the game changes. It becomes a grind and less of an adventure ( some say 1-100 is a grind but this is your first time playing )

When you hit level 100 you have spent 2-3 months and $70 + and game time you bought.

Level 100 changes the game like so. You need to find a guild that is into what youre into. Pvp/Pve

Pve - find a guild that can do the gear grind with you and help you progress through the awesomeness that is raiding!

Pvp - Bgs galore with a few arenas once you are experienced. Get gear and pwn noobs.

Loner - Achievements mounts and battle pets! If I dont have 2 of everything in the game whats the point?
This is more of a forums guy. You find fellow collectors and make gold to buy the pets/mounts.

Have you a good time in wow. I'm bringing my friend into the game soon.

Once you start considering WoW in your mind you have to play. Give it a go it's a fun game if you don't spend all day and night playing, you'll burn out quick.
Same thing goes with me and other people that play on and off (im currently unsubbed) once you start thinking about the game... the next day or two you find yourself subscribing again.
