I swear so many people are just too stupid...also dont forget all the inflated subs during the $5 box set for raf's etc...

WoD had what, 10million subs at one point? Let's assume it sold at least 10million copies (probably more, too lazy to look).

Here's some simple math with all the zeros.

10,000,000 x $50 (assuming no one bought the collector's edition @ $89.99 or something - not the case...) = $500,000,000
+
wod average subs is around let's say 4 million (low ball) and the average cost of a month is $14 (i think it's as low as $11.99 or something, up to $20 if you pay with gold)
4,000,000 x 10 x $14 = $560,000,000

WoD lowball earnings not including any micro transactions: $1,060,000,000 or for you obvious fucking morons, over 1 billion dollars in 1 year.

The game isn't dying, they are making money hand over fist with barely any effort.

It had 10 million people wondering if Blizzard did something right this time. News flash, they didn't.

Maybe I wasn't clear enough.

1 billion dollars in 10 months.

Money matters.

I'm not debating that Blizzard is making much more than it's spending.
It's just bleeding players left & right.

Again, a lot of that is people who buy a $5 copy for rafs etc.

I don't disagree that player base is down (thats irrefutable, numbers dont lie), but to say the game is dying is idiotic.

Read the full report..... Revenue and bottom line are both up considerably.

WoW is a piece of the puzzle. Some of that is being eaten up by D3 play and HOTS play (a lot of people on this site refuse to acknowledge D3 growing). Additionally, while WoW play is down, they have a collective player base across all their games that is larger than they've ever had.

I retract.... this is a bit of an understatement even so. Blizz's profit right now is DOUBLE what it was this time last year. I think they are doing a lot right. Wow players just don't like it.

I personally was thinking about re-subbing earlier today but after seeing the numbers & using my 7 days free game time the other week & realizing i'm not the only one who has stepped away makes me want to stay away until they make some changes that actually matter.

That's right, cause companies only make profit, there is no cost to run a company.

So they make this "1 Billion" every, what... three years?

Blizzard merged with Activision back during BC days. The merger cost quite a bit, if not billions. However, it was speculated to grow their income by 94%

Activision doesn't give a shit about blizzard's rep, just the money they can make them.

Game is definitely dying, as in losing majority of it's old and newer player base. I doubt it will ever die completely, but their profits will suffer greatly. Especially with them pumping out random shit to keep their current player base busy.

1billion, as long as they maintain 40%+ gp they wont even consider closing it down.

A billion dollar game is a billion dollar game.
