if you were failing in tbc, you just didn't have enough warlocks and resto shamans

Let's be honest here. You all play games just as much as those guys in the top guild, but they're sponsored and getting world firsts while you are wiping in lfr and failing at 1400 rating.

As for their players... these guys show up to Blizzcon every year and there's a trail of tang leading out the door, some dressed as BEs, some as NEs, it's a cosplay Larper's dream of debauchery. I'm shocked they have the energy to get on the plane at the end of the weekend myself. Once you have the WoW-cred, every fan wants to meet you and help you reproduce. This game has been about guild celebrity for a very long time.
