I've used a few good private vanilla servers, by good I mean they were coded correctly. The only issue with vanilla private servers is almost everyone is an elitist piece of shit who think they know EVER THING about vanilla. I was in a couple good guilds but the elitists are everywhere and obnoxious. I don't get why every private server is filled with them, but they make it a horrible experience. I got lucky with one guild I stayed with for two years. But trust me when I say most of the private server communities are absolute shit. It can completely suck the fun out of something that can be a lot of fun.
