Well the decline happened when Cata came. That's also when Blizzard made the game alot more difficult than normal. Early on the 5 man Heroics kicked peoples asses kinda like old times in BC, they made it harder because people were complaining how face roll WOTLK heroics were. But WOTLK was also the end of the game lore wise if you followed Warcraft 3.

So with Cata, the lore was all extra made up content and the game got alot harder. Declines happened.

What happened to MoP? I never played it.


Last tier of raid content lasted for way too long (i think 1 year+)

pretty believable... WoTLK and Cata were the last enjoyable bits of pvp really... MOP sucked and WoD is the worst I've ever seen it...

A game cant last forever, been playing off and on since Bc its fun to play new raids / new content but after u finish that after 1-2 months its the same ole unsubscribe until next big content

Don't care about mythic raids

i say it all the time if they open new servers such as vanilla/BC/WoTLK so many more people will play. i would play BC 24/7 i would have to quit my job.

What they should do is release Vanilla servers and release the content in a similar fashion as the natural cycle was, first MC then BWL a few months later and AQ etc, kinda like how Nostalrius wants to do it. They could have Vanilla servers that do this, BC servers that do this, WOTLK servers that do this, etc. The content is already made, they just have to re-release it in a semi regular fashion.

5 Vanilla servers
5 BC servers
5 WOTLK servers
5 Cata servers

And then expand/contract the server count based on popularity and SWALLOW SOME FUCKING PRIDE AND ACTUALLY CLOSE SERVERS IF THEY ARE EMPTY.

It could be awesome. After all of the vanilla content has been released and a guild gets bored of Vanilla they could just create a BC character, or maybe transfer their character from Vanilla to BC if they really wanted to.

or they could start new servers from ground zero and re-progress the servers in the same way they did

They have already stated they won't do this. Don't know why but they wont.

They have already stated they won't due this for more than 1 reason but one is they cant revert back to old patches or whatever they dont have any of the old data

they have the data they just don't want to admit failure.
even if they didn't have the data they could easily figure shit out, people do it for private servers all the time.

All the time. Bit of an over exaggeration

Maybe 2 good servers and still tons of bugs
