I dont think you can compare diablo 3 to world of warcraft....

in d3 there is sooooooooo many legendaries, but in world of warcraft there's only a few for each class...

Realistically there is no reason to not xmog legendaries that are as old as the game...they aren't "special"...they were. It would be a really decent gold sink, which honestly, is never a bad thing. It's cosmetic...and does not affect game play. And if you don't want it because of "lore"...well...it's fantasy....as garrosh would say "times change".

i feel like the problem is that they would become too popular

make the legendaries unobtainable, wait 6 months, then allow them to be mogged. cut down on too many people going to farm it for their mogs asap
