You can send heirlooms across realm, and unless it's been changed you can send the guild tabards (The ones that boost rep by 50% / 100%) to yourself too, which sell for a decent amount at vendors. You still lose a decent chunk of the gold, but if you want to just throw 10k onto a server and don't mind losing a bit of gold it's a decent method. Test it with just 1 first to make sure it still works.
