The time it takes to make a 665 will probably be the same as if you grinded mobs just for the sole purpose of finding a 665. So it's not so much useless as it is frustrating that it takes so much god damn time for something so elastic in demand considering raids are around the corner.

Finding an epic item from a world mob is about 1 in 100,000. Even at my rate of killing i won't average one every two days and i can kill up to 3k mobs an hour.

The only saving grace that some of these items have is the fact that the upgraded versions of them (665) can have better stat allotment than some of the items that raids can produce for certain specs that gain more from secondary stats than main stats. Same goes with some of the BOE epics that are world drops.

The items in general for the first set of them are going to be expensive as balls especially trinkets seeing as currently the herbs are worth around 5g each which for your daily cd + work orders you are going to spend around 300g.

I agree that professions overall are mostly useless... but alchemy should still do decently due to the amount of people whom will be raiding.

2 months after raiding releases BOE items will be worthless because heroic foundry is 680 ilvl, but till then the items will hold a premium especially to those guilds who want to keep maximum gear to keep pushing mythic (so for those of us on high population servers that is a good thing).

That's fine but when hundreds of thousands of people are farming it and flooding AH with it that changes everything. The first 4 pages of our AH is 665 BOE's and they keep dropping in price and are being bought up like crazy. I was just in a group with a guy who was Ilvl 650 already. If you have the gold you can easily be ready for raids right now even though they are not released.

Its been like that every expansion... why should this one be any different?

well I haven't played live since TBC and i figured it would be some what like this but not this flooded already... I started back up about 4 weeks ago just for this expansion and it is very good so far but these items are killing me.

Only the extremely wealthy are spending hundreds of thousands of gold to gear their characters for raids mostly. So i mean it really doesn't effect joe schmoe. If the items drop under 20k each then you can "worry."

yeah ive seen some of them at 30-40k already on my server but i think that is people trying to make quick gold
