I have played a couple of days now and must say, the AH being a thing isn't all that of an impact.
Just as 'normal' classic, gold is very hard to come by, especially in the earlier levels. You can't just plunder the AH for items.
Perhaps new runs, once you've acumulated lots of gold already from old chars and put that gold on bank accounts, you will start to feel the impact.
I chose to play solo self found, but sell everything I won't use for myself through the AH. This means i have some more gold, but that just smooths it out, its still very dangerous.
Haven't done dungeons yet, but have grouped a lot for risky / difficult quests just so i have to travel less (coming back later when i overlevel / overgear the quests).
Having tons of fun.
