Feldrake and other rare TCG items will be handed out for free, soon. Feldrake used to sell for 60-65M in-game gold, and one of the toys, Perpetual Purple Firework, was traded for around 120M.

Sad to see them turn TCG items into bargain bin garbage, instead of reintroducing the items to the game in a better suited way, but it is what it is. Rip if you recently bought the physical TCG cards or tradable in-game items.

I don't play retail at all but this still made me pretty sad to see. Just for the heck of it while they're at it, I hope they do the same thing with Swift Spectral Tiger in the future.

Wait, feldrake and firework were worth that much? JFC... I remember when feldrake was super cheap in cata, I think it was like 200k-150k on my server and spectral tigers were 600k~

The bloated value is purely the result of the Trading Card Game, which had the in-game item codes, not being in production since Aug 2013.

Yeah I have a bit of history with it, I had bought about 1k$ worth of entire boxes of the (at the time super cheap) Archives Booster packs and got 3 spectral tiger cards and 1 rocket out of them all, lots of other small stuff as well.

I sold the tigers (2 tigers per card) for in game gold on the AH and used a just the rocket and 1 blue tiger on my account.

I wish I had kept the tigers but since the new set was released, I figured maybe they'd do some reprint again at some point in the future and was scared of it devaluing.

I just can't believe how much all of the prices have ballooned up since I last played.

Imo they should have just made a Hearthstone Classic/Legacy with all the cards from the TCG obtainable and playable digitally.
That way people could buy digital boosters and get chances at the redeemable items and they wouldn't need to think about physically printing the cards, shipping logistics, etc.
