95% of players do not like making gold, but they need it. So if all you focus on is goldmaking you can make a ton in all versions of wow. Pretty much the less fun it is the more gold it makes. Most people want to log on and play arenas or raid with their friends, if you put 14 hours into anything gold related you'll be stacking in no time.
I'm not sure what wotlk classic prices will be like (tbc classic is 1:1 about atm) but there were 1k an hour goldfarms back in the day. Thats farming that isnt counting professions which can make much more just buying mats and crafting.
with retail if you know what you're doing you can make 1m a day playing 14 hours. Thats around 8-9k fg a day. But lets say you're new and are making the bare minimum, its still really easy to net 100-200k a day with that amount of playtime. Which is 25-50k fg a month
