Also, the reward is so horribly low unless you live in Africa that I wouldn't even considering using tokens to buy game time. Spend 15 minutes in work and there you go, got your one month of wow.

The option to buy tokens is more geared toward players who have done everything, have a ton of gold laying around and are experienced enough to know how to make a bunch every week easily. It shouldn't be viewed as a selling point to a player who is new to the game. There is a lot of l2p standing between you and that point. You should only play if you are going to enjoy that process.
assuming he's starting from scratch, he would just need to hit 100, get a garrison going, and spend 5 minutes a day doing his garrison missions to pay off a monthly sub.
