Playing through as a mosaic sin, I've noticed some targets don't allow leech from cobra strike. This seems to be the exception to the rule though as about 90% of mobs do.

Is there a comprehensive list of monsters that can't be leeched from using cobra strike somewhere? Hell at this point I'll even accept personal anecdotes.

For clarification, I don't think this is an 'undead-not-leeching mechanism, as every mob in the chaos sanctuary allows leeching from cobra strike.

I'm going to refer you to the bottom line of my post. Every mob is leechable, so the list is most certainly not "undeads".

Are Soul-variant mobs the only actually "ghosts" then? Cobra strike leeches off of the stangler-variant mob (A1 Tower, A2 Arcance, A4 river/sanc, etc)

Yeah I've noticed that with random champion packs that spawn phys immune and the A5 deathlord/moonlord mob that is naturally phys immune.

maybe a physical sunder helps out.. the 5% may be enough for a high leech level but you char loose phys res too (not good on hc).
To be safe on HC you can always go with draculs instead of +skills gloves. The lifetap proc always works but you loos a bit of dmg

Hey guys. I have same problem and I found when stops leeching. When I charge Phoenix strike ... my assassin continue leeching, after I charge claws of thunder ... it leeches and feet me to max life and mana ... and right after I charge Fists of fire it stops and cannot leech anymore.
I test is several times and Fists of fire stops my leeching life and mana. Please try it I am sure that if u not charge FIRE skill u will leech from almost all monsters may be 90-95 of mops u can leech from...but when you charge Fists of Fire you will not be able to leech anymore.

#1: every single monster type has a mod called "drain effectiveness", monsters with 0 drain (ie. no leech) listed here:
https://theamazonbasin.com/wiki/index.php/Drain_effectiveness

rule of thumb: you can leech from anything that has flesh. mummies are fine, skeletons and constructs are not

#2: fists of fire convert physical dmg of finishing move to fire dmg. since leech works based on phys dmg, a full conversion (fists of fire @ lvl34+) means no leech
