I started ladder as a blizz sorc with the intention of farming enough gear to eventually respec into a fireball/meteor sorc since I’ve never played as one.

I just dropped a vex so have the runes to make flickering flame. I’m now wondering whether I continue farming for more fire sorc gear (e.g. eschuta’s) before the respec from my blizz setup.

Would you say that flickering flame is the key piece needed for the fire sorc to excel? Or if I respec at current will I struggle with farming (assuming I have a fire sunder)?

The rest of my current gear is spirit sword, spirit shield, 2x fcr rings, random res amulet, Trangs gloves, smoke armor, aldurs boots, random res belt.

Don't use eschutas, it's garbage. Use hoto or occy if you want a little mf.

Fire sunder with flickering flame feels really good in a lot of areas, but areas with high fire res like Chaos Sanc is not great. Player 1 solo is ok, but more player count will take forever.

Negative FR itemization is strong, so id recommend occy with fire facet with flickering flame.

Fireball is way more fun than blizz imo

Thanks heaps, this is super helpful! I may hold out for an occy, plus i still need to find a base to make flickering flame. I'm really keen to play it as the videos i've watched seem really fun and fast paced.

Respec to fire now and start farming stoney tombs!

Insane area! easy to find and 2 levels of no-fire-immune-alvl85 monsters!

Also weapon racks to find elite bases...


Ive leveled up my fire sorcs there from lvl 50 naked ladder starter both s1 and s2 :):)

S1 was hydra/orb
S2 was fb/hydra since sunder charms...

where do you guys put your spare skill points? hydra? static?
good farming spots aside from stony tomb?
