I want to switch it up but I just can't. Especially with Sunders, I am a Leaf fire sorc up until respect to Blizz. Moat trick plus keys until I can get enough to trade for D keys then trade for Uber service. Rinse and repeat. I didn't get really far this season as I couldn't grind as much as I like. No high runes, no Lo none of that but I did end up with a mid javazon (titans, treachery, share shako w/ sorc, spirit no CTA) and solid hell sorc (vmagi, shako, occy, spirit, no CTA tho no sorc torch).

Gameplan was: my sorc, if I get Lo I start a horker. If I get a Ber I build a hdin. If I get 2x Ber I'd start a nova sorc. That's what I was originally thinking.

Thinking about S3, here's what I'm thinking and curious if anyone else had done this and what your experience was.

For this season I was thinking of leveling up a pally and getting dual spirits which is not a big challenge. Lore and stealth and we're off. that's pretty fast. And I plan on just rune farming with 0% MF at Cows. with a tele staff I can start doing Chaos fairly efficiently. I'm sure I'll gear slower but the higher chance of hitting a mid to HR plus bases and that would be what I'm banking on. A bit more of a gamble this way but I dunno, seems like a good shakeup with a better upside.

You can do this with Sorc too which I'm considering... Anyone at the start go completely dedicated to rune farming and how did it workout for you?

Possible choice I might make as well
Was that your first build? How did that go for you thru the season?

I just play and sell whatever I pick up. MF has never been a fun grind in this game

Overall this plan is fine, but paladins are also really good at chaos sanctuary and I would just recommend that you mix it up.

Also don't worry too much about runes. They drop very randomly, so you're better off trying to worry about trying to find items you can trade. There's no real trick to it, you just do hell chaos/baal/trav/andy/meph/cows/TerrorZones/keys runs or do pindle+eldrich+shenk type runs early on if your character is really weak. The only trick is that when you get stronger, you can farm solo in multiplayer games so that the normal monsters drops more loot.

If you manage to stay focused, it is probably the best way to do it. 1) Because it requires little space, 2) Because they have high liquidity, 3) Cows are probably the easiest place to farm high level early season.

The problem becomes not picking up stuff and spend time trying to sell it etc. At least unless it is a perfect item in it's right or id'ing stuff that can have potential high value.

Thanks all for the tips. Even though I've been playing for years I never really struck it big with MFing and translating to FG. So hoping to benefit from a build that allows me to endgame farm so quickly.

Small update, I wasnt sure if I should just use a hdin this seasons. Similar items and is super strong. I'm comfortable with leveling and specing into it so I figured I just test it out. So I respected my lvl 77 Pally to FOHdin and used the most thrift shop set of gear I can rummage through my stash. We're talking dual spirits and vendored belts, boots, gloves. Just straight trash. No torch and one anni. I wanted to replicate what it'll most look like for me during ladder hah. I was impressed with the speed and SAFETY of FOH at hell chaos. My merc had insight thresher non-eth and random ass helm and armor. no LL. We're talking iceblink or something. Other than healing him, I didn't use pots at all.

I went with a no conviction no holy shock variant with a few pts in smite and fanatacism. I wanted to be able to have a chaos runner that can dclone. My blizz sorc had a harder time and doable, but took prep so having the smite I'm excited about. I had redemption up while FOH chaos and i safely went thru chaos.

In contrash, I respected into Hdin and ran the same run. With smite and fanat. And, holy shit, I was dying left and right. It was the fact of my defensives not being there. Severely under geared for Chaos allowed me to be squishy as hell. I was 75% max block on both. This quick dry run really convinced me that FOH really did well for Chaos. It wasn't necessarily the kill speed, it was the survivability as I just didn't get hit as much it seemed and redemption up made a world of difference. plus being able to shoot from a distance. I would even run right in to mobs and felt safe.

Wanted to share that experience for anyone thinking about it. I think I'll give this a go. Goals are my first infinity and fort this season!
