I'm considering buying d2r, because legacy is way too inactive for my taste and also the connection to the servers seems to have gotten poor.
Is d2r worth getting for an old school type of player?
What are the biggest differences? (especially in the pvp area)
certain classes can not stun>kill opponents, and therefore certain duels are more protracted. As an example:
A Trapper can not namelock hold mindblast to lock an opponent in place for allies to jump kill said opponent. the opponent can escape after a very brief stun period.
however if you are a true old school player, and prefer the EP format, D2r is fine, but again the change in D2r is a larger screen size which gives sorc's, particularly blizzard sorc's a much larger attack range.
the games are similar, but d2r is now more of a D2.5, i.e. a new game, with new mechanics and new items.
