As I only, well, mostly play private legacy Diablo 2 games with friends or while soloing, I have not experienced the upping of an old item in a cube recipe which drops and then denies (for a period of time) making games to an entire battlenet ip filled with players.

From what peeps are posting in https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d2r/c/d2-classic-general/21, that appears to be a legacy player's greatest concern. Yet, no Blizz mod nor Blizz game developer has chimed in.

Well, I hope that gets fixed for those who are affected by it. Legacy D2 (Classic & LOD) are still fun games. I would hate for these to disappear.

Wishful thinking: What I also hope for is that the monster AI is tweaked so that the challenges we face are interesting and not so same old same old. Imagine a tweaked teleporting monster which successfully hunts you down. It does not give up and gathers hordes which help each other on different acts to find where you are.

I think the cubing thing is an asian problem for the most part. You will find countless threads on this....exactly because the game is in reset-only mode, they will not fixt it. Because there is nobody with the job to fix anything in D2 Legacy. They will reset the ladder and that's it.

Twice a year they let the housekeeper dust the cabinet, hopefully they make a mistake and reset your server, fixing all known issues. Gg

Greetings all !

We will be resetting the ladder for Diablo II (Classic) on December 15th beginning at 11am PST. We expect downtime to be about 4 hours. Servers should be up at 3pm PST for the start of the new ladder. Please note this is for the Classic/Legacy client and NOT for the Resurrected Client.

I've always pictured that the entirety of the legacy servers were run on a single dusty Celeron 533Mhz desktop which contects the internet through a dial-up modem and which as you have said needs to be dusted by the housekeeper(s) who, on occassion) accidentally press the reset button.

I figured it was an old Texas Instruments TI-99/4A or a Commodore 64...rofl

nah no new patch i don't believe they waste time on d2 even though a number of us are die hards.

So true. Sigh. I have been following David Brevik since Diablo 1 (1997! Sheesh. That is a lifetime or two ago). There have been a handful of indie game developers/game artists whose work I love. Yet, that era where people flocked to and became loyal with a game or two are long gone. I am prehistoric and showing it, too.
