When creating a cta does the base matter? What's the best base for value crystal sword, flail, double axe? Or does it really matter?

personal preference matters. Unless you trying to sell.

Right. I will make it for me. Although if it rolls well I probably will sell. At the moment I have a double axe. Will that affect the sale value?

I like to my CTA to be in a different weapon type then my main weapon so I can easily tell what I'm holding without opening my inventory. For that reason I like to make CTAs in military picks.
