I have an Infinity in a Scythe that I've been using for my Trav horker's Merc. Is there any viable HC build that wields Infinity? It looks like a lot of fun but I'm concerned about no blocking and resistances.

yes but you will need to have pretty good gear and if you forget to cast ES you are dead

merc with insight is important !

you can hit 3.5k mana with bo, you dont have to put many points into other stats cuz you dont need str fir spirit monarch etc

if you forget to cast es you will die instant with your shit res + low life though

in hc you need damage reduction and blocking by holding infinity for that extra damage from neg monster res you put your character at a disadvantage in terms of tanking damage. es is improved but the old standard still applys: in hc go vita with high or max dr, high def, highest life, stacked max res and use a support bo barb at all times if you walk outside town.

I mean, it doesn't matter how well you build your character with gear, if you play carelessly you're gonna die sooner or later anyway... just with a less defensive build you have to be a bit more careful. Nova is a short range skill and is probably high risk no matter how you build it. Blocking is one thing but you can't trust 50-75% block chance. Sooner or later you're going to get 5-7 consecutive hits doing 200-300 damage each and get ko'd. So clever use of merc and defensive play is probably the only way to survive.. you can't trust anything else. If you do that, in conjunction with strong other gear pieces, you can probably use infinity on sorc with success.

Yeah, but I wouldn't go near worldstone or baal with it. Souls[elemental damage in general] and blood magic are no joke for ES
