i know d2r isnt the same game as d2:LOD and it never will be but i have noticed while running for keys and essence that the drop rates do seem a lot different then LOD, if im not mistaken it was about 10% for key/essence in lod was it not ? and been trying to test it out and so i just ran hell mephisto for around 3 hours, on average its roughly 3 mins or less and in that time zero essence have dropped. Just wondering if any one else has noticed a lower chance on essence/keys in d2r compared to LOD ? i hopped on lod did 12 runs got 2 essence from meph compared to around 60+ runs i did on d2r and got zero essence. is it effected by mf in d2r or something ?

its like 1/10 or 1/12 chances for most bosses i think baal its 1/16 or something

Honestly it’s entirely random. Just because something has a 1 in 16 chance of occurring doesn’t mean it will occur every 16 tries.

If you want to test it proper use a sample size of 5000 +runs... It's just rng even if chance is 1/12 Zou can still go for 30 runs without a key

When they 1st released the patch that made keys available, I did 156 key runs(all 3 keys in each game) and got zero keys.
I was like what the heck?!?
