Finders fee to pay someone. Let say an item is worth 15k-20k, if they find a buyer for the item, what is a good/fair finders fee to pay them.

Depends on how rich the bidder and taker of the job is. If the bidder is filthy rich, i'd say 80% to the taker is fair. If the bidder is poor, 80% the other way is fair.

What? Who'd the bidder? Let me make sure we are on same page. I have an item I'm looking to sell (6/40 ceremonial javs on ladder) worth 15 to 20k. If someone find me the guy I sell to, who needs that item and a trade is completed, how much is a good fee to pay the middle man. Who pointed me towards the buyer.

As i wrote: If you (the bidder) is rich, you can give 80% of it to the finder IF he or she is poor. If he or she is rich, i would say split 50/50. You must notice the wealth of the person helping you. But also of course not be naive about it; It may be a rich person making a fake account pretending to be poor. So you should check their history and make sure they are a normal person just trying to make a living.

You have to see things holistically. You can't just get rich on other people's hard work. You must be fair with things.

This makes no sense. That is like saying a millionaire should pay 100k for a new Chevy and a poorer person pays 30k for the same car.
How much fg a person has or doesn't have should have no bearing on anything.

You know as well as i how unfair the world is. Someone born into extreme poverty will never have the same chances as someone born into extreme wealth. So these things should always come into play. You and i have the power to change it .. so why not? Why shouldn't things be more fair for everyone? Why should we insist on making things more UNfair than it already is?

Sure. I agree that the world is unfair. But is not my business if someone is poorer or richer. All I can do is do the best for me and those I care about.
How is that making things more unfair?

Also, maybe someone is lazy and unmotivated-that is why they are unsuccessful. It isn't my job to make up for their inadequacies.

You’re insane why the hell would anyone split 20k just for finding a buyer. I’d say the hard work is finding the javs. If it was me and I sold them for 20k I’d tip a finder 200-1000k depending on how much fg they had

It should be your business, it is everyone's business. If you give the power away, you risk it being abused. You should care about everyone.
