IF
you don't use %sorb or MAX% resist in combination with it? Is it pointless to go over 75% just on its own or does it factor the EXCESS resistance after conviction/lower resis

Example: If someone came in with infinity and it broke your resistance but you had 300% resis all stack you should still be good to go right?

its always good to stack resist, example: lower res + conv aura in cs? :D -150res?

so i always aim 250 fire / light res

Overstacking resists is moronic if you're suffering in one area.

If you are 75 in all, and can get excess? Go ahead and stack excess resists especially vs fire/light/poison.

Lower resist isn't as prevalent due to decrepify having a 999.99999999% uptime but it's there, although conviction will tear you a new asshole. Both is typically a death sentence.
But yeah, majority of the time it's 1 or the other, so having 100 to 130 would leave you with like 30-50 after being negatively affected.

Having like 20% res is enough to not get 1 shot usually, but if you're -20 or -50 you're dead af

Yup.

My Uber killer is not Pally, so she, Assassin, needs 300 res vs Uber Meph. Well, I equip her Tgods so actually keep 310 LR.

If pvp, i'm sure it has it's uses if you're facing -% to resist gear and/or conviction. But as far as i've understood, knowing your matchup is half the battle.

In pvm, it can have it's use in hardcore if you play aggressively and want to be secure against conviction boss monsters.

Other than that, it has limited use. Usually resist items goes on the cost of damage and other stats.
