Does anyone know if i put a jewel with this mod in a helm for my merc, does it add to the damage for my merc? or does this mod need to be only on a weapon?

Can't tell for sure, but i believe it should both work exactly the same way.
(Normal %ed works differently though)

Nope, it doesn't need to be in weapon.

I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't work at all, and no one ever bothered to check if undead/demons receive more damage.
