Hello.

Just a simple question :

Is infinity alone enough to break lightning immunities?

I have a lightorb sorc :

https://d2.maxroll.gg/d2planner/ta0106vm

But I don't really want to invest more into griffon etc... Since I'm farming on P1, I don't really need godly damage. But will I be able to break the same amount of immunities with just Infinity or does griffon help breaking more immunities (or it's just for damage) ?

I'm thinking about going full light, buying 2 bers to make my Infinity.

So it's my question.

Thank you.

Infinity is enough to break most immunities.

but regardless Griffon does not help or work to break immunities only Conviction and Lower Resist can do this, and when breaking immunity you only break at 1/5th the effect. Lightning is the most easiest to break since those immune mobs are mostly 100 and 110res and conviction lvl 12 from infinity breaks a total of 17 max res on the immunity mob.

https://diablo-archive.fandom.com/wiki/Immune_Monsters_(Diablo_II) you can check up monster stats here to get an overview of which you break

Thanks for the link !

So we agree that Griffon is purely for damage purpose?

And also, the +2 skill if you have an andariel's visage on merc doesn't help to break more immunities, it's also just the damage since conviction will be lvl 14?

if you're on a budget, wield the 'crescent moon' weapon runeword.

It's not really about budget.

It's that I'm happy with my current setup. I have the 117fcr cap with 350+mf.

My damages as a lightorb are already kind of decent for P1. So if I go full light they will be way stronger.

If you add the insane bonus that infinity gives I really have no use of a griffon if it's just for damage.

I won't be able to reach 200fcr with just griffon so it would need a massive investment to get to 200FCR + the same amount of MF I already have. So I'm fine with Shako. I don't want to go with Tal set either. Because of CTA. When you are running Tal your CTA buffs are low and I don't like it (My NL sorc is like that).

I just want Infinity and go full light.

Well aslong as you dont sacrifice killspeed do whatever you want, but just typing that you are oneshotting mobs is pointless. If you actually want more items/runes you should time your runs and compare :)
Im positive more dmg will benefit you more than more mf even in p1, obviously you shouldn't ignore mf completly but no point going overboard on it either since it has deminishing return.
To answer your question you ofcourse don't need to get more than infinity and slap on mf gear if you want. Aslong as your killspeed dont hurt it is always worth getting more mf than dmg, 250-300mf is sweet spot more is whatever.

Also tal amu+armor+belt is instead of what you use is a better build
