d2r on sale thinking about getting another so I can camp a 3rd player in game when doing mf runs with my brother.
Can I run two copies or can I only be signed into 1 b.net account without a special program?

VMWare and another installation of the game.

VMWare is a Virtual Machine Workstation, it allows you to dedicate cores + ram to a separate operating system
You will need:

A windows Vista / 10 ISO File to install an operating system

Network updates 3.0+

The Blizzard Launcher

A separate installation of the game (The entire game)

And possibly a Proxy server so that bnet can distinguish between your subnets / local

Yeah I got vmware workstation pro with a real windows 10 cdkey, I used it for maxing most runescape skills, and opening files I don't trust. Its just resource heavy and I can't port over my GPU into workstation so it will be struggling to run d2r without a gpu I think.
What about running a session of remote desktop?

1. Download Process Explorer, lightweight and free windows software
2. Copy/paste d2r folder to make a new copy
3. go to bnet launcher settings, check box to allow multiple instances of bnet launcher
4. launch primary bnet launcher, uncheck auto-login button then log in and launch d2r like normal
5. open process explorer, search for “d2r” (top right corner), find the line that mentions detecting multiple instances of the game, right click it and end it
6. launch your new copied version of d2r launcher exe (the one that opens bnet launcher, not d2r.exe), login to second account, play, success

way easier than vmware
