Yes, pretty much this. Its very useful since u dont need almost any point in str and the 200 more deff really doesnt make any difference.
But tbh i like to see more def on my armor so i prefer AP. I know it dont make any sense. Maybe its something psychological idk lol.

I would say optimal base would be AP for some classes that use Str/Life/FCR jewelry. Since base Str + 20 Anni + 20 Torch + 40 str ring x2 + str amulet = easily over 100. Druids can easily use AP no problem assuming they dump their wealth into some high end jewelry.

This is no longer relevant due to no Str glitching.

The best base is determined based on the easiest way for you to hit 156 to use spirit.

For druid, it’s pretty simple.
15 base str
20 anni
20 torch
=
55 Str

156-55-74= 27
Where 156 = Str needed to use spirit non
Where 55 is your Str from base str + anni torch
Where 74 = Str from enigma at 99 (for illustration purposes we will use 99)
Where 27 is the remaining Str needed from gear to reach 156 Str

Now you determine does any of your gear other than accessories Or gear that has less than a 55 Str requirement provide Str. The answer for druid, is no.

So now you now you need 27 Str from gear to reach 156 Str.

55+ 27 = 82 str

Now you always want a light armor base so it doesn’t affect your frw speed

Light armor bases around 82 Str:
Dusk shroud = 77
Wyrmhide = 84


If your gear provides 29 or more Str you can use wyrmhide. If it only provides 27 Str, you can use dusk shroud.
