Hello,

i got a question about the SC vs HC prices at ladder start

does someone know how the prices compare at the start of the ladder?

are they about equal in the first 1-2 weeks and then SC prices drop alot and HC prices stay roughly the same?

maybe someone knows it from the start of D2R in september

would appreciate any feedback / thoughts :)

Hardcore more expensive. at the start for a few weeks they are usually around the same. you could argue sc might have a slight edge in pricing because usually a lot more demand than supply. but either way they are very similar at start

It also depends what items. Some items hold higher value in softcore than hardcore and vice versa. Hardcore tends to hold its values longer due to sc markets getting saturated faster. Both the sc and HC markets have their pluses and minuses. If you are asking because you plan to try to make some fg come ladder, I would consider trying to tap into both markets. That’s how I made a lot of my fg. However, I main hardcore to actually play the game because I enjoy the experience more.

complete waste of time to play hardcore if your looking to make increased prices on fg.

the prices are fairly close and the risk is EXTREMELY HIGH.

if you enjoy HC play HC. but dont play it trying to make a quick buck.

that also said you can grind up some fg on SC easily and buy yourself some gear for HC. which also defeats the purpose of HC.

overall hardcore is for a specific kind of player.

ive played my share of hardcore in d2 and in d3. d2 hc and poe hc is not for me. d3 hc is the only way to play d3 since the game is garbage without some form of challenge. (this is my opinion).

d2 is way to broken and rippy to play HC. (again my opinion)

I checked out the prices early on in release to see if i should roll a HC character to make a quick buck myself and the prices of most things were close enough that its not worth the risk in any way shape or form.

that said again> if you want to play hardcore for fun or the experience of playing HC to see what its like. go ahead you might love it- some people swear by it. I know in d3 I swore by it. (it also makes you a MUCH better player) you will learn all kinds of mechanics most players completely ignore and or dont even know exist in the game at all because they dont need to know about them because death has next to no consequence.

Good luck!
