-FoH apparently doesn't need conviction because it only helps the main hit and not the clear speed.
-Some say to just use redemption, but you can just swap to it for full heal then back to something else.
-Dont need meditation because of the redemption swaps.
-The only thing I can come up with is to run holy shock because you're gonna max it for FoH synergy and probably drop 10 into light res. ..it will help clean up stragglers and maybe if you run infinity on merc the holy shock will be decent?
or will the shock be so worthless that just running a QoL aura would be better.

Sadly i didnt test pally on PTR and dont have one on live to try it now

Redemption is the best

i found getting conviction to exactly -150 resistances was good and swap between redemtion

Depending on where you mf you could use sanctuary for crowd control.

I was thinking about this, but having a a5 merc with lawbringer works just as well and after some experimentation a5 merc is probly the best one to get with a FOH din. Throw on a head striker on offhand, and a Gface + duriel shell boom budget merc which works well vs bosses.


Personally, Its still recommended to get COVIC aura since some mobs will be "Beast/Animal" variety. Its also super strong for your mage party members. I would stop at like lvl 10.
Other Notable Auras that are great for situational swaps are:
1. Redemption <- Turn it on after a big mob kill for the life/mana
2. Vigor < - Run faster
3. Salvation < - On low budget/early builds this is extremely useful and probly his best def aura

I've done testing with meditation Aura as well but its super meh. That 2 second Redemption swap just works much better. Med is kind of useful however if your mana pool is <300.

Other notes: Pumping 6-10 points on resist fire/lightning is also great for the max breaks


Also the max on Holy shock is not needed whatsoever. If your building a FOH din your making him for Chaos runs. 95% of his damage is from the holy bolts. Save those 30 points on convic/Holy shock and pump it on other useful auras as the one mentioned above. Literally non of his auras need to be maxed but some more points on other useful ones work great!

If you have a team salvation is great to start.

I still like conviction for boss killing. Doing chaos runs foh+conv kills diablo way faster than shooting holy bolt at him. If you're going to try baal runs at all, conv is also a must have for all of the animal/beast monsters you run into.

I havent needed my merc to do very much so I run an insight merc and have needed to switch to redemption for life maybe 3 times in 100 runs. Holy shock isnt bad, but at 2k-ish max damage and no conviction it's pretty useless. Doesnt even kill maggot young. Vigor isnt bad but I just use charge so, again, pretty useless.

All-in-all, between the -res and -def% for merc hits, conviction seems like the best aura to run

not if ur playing with a find item barb

salvation if ur hardcore with bad res? vigor/redemption sounds fun if nothing else adds to your dps
