As all your damage really comes from corpse explosion as a summoner, Might aura from A2 merc isn't really a big deal IMO. All you really care about is that first kill to chain your corpse explosions. Not to mention A5 mercs can grab Might aura with Last Wish. So, I think A5 merc is the clear winner for summoner necros in 2.4. I think A5 merc will have waaaay more survivability and a lot more damage as well to help get that first kill.

If you are at the very end of the game sure. But while starting out might merc will be better

I don't think so really. With like a crap Grief, crap Arreat's, and Treachery, A5 merc is gonna destroy A2 merc in survivability and damage which is all you really care about. Even in the initial playthrough, if you find a decent 1H, I still think A5 will be able to survive better and maybe have better damage than A2 with like a poop Insight.

Give it a go. But losing might will lower your boss clearing speed will be pretty bad. Just saying waiting for grief or last wish would be terribly slow imo.

Yeah Infinity is BIS for sure. No arguments there.
