I was looking through my jewel mule and I noticed I have a fair amount of +14-15 Max DMG jewels and the majority roll with level 18 requirement. Then I saw some with second mod that were level 50 requirement. Right in the middle was a plain +14 Max DMG with Level 50 Req.

Does this mean that the level requirement is based on where it is found and the mods do not matter?

I see. One rolled as "Vermilion Jewel" - LVL 50 (presumably prefix roll), the other rolled as "Jewel of Carnage" - LVL 18 (suffix roll?). After reviewing the names, it makes sense. "Vermilion" is listed before item type and "of Carnage" is after. Didn't realize items could roll with 0 prefix and suffix's only. Thanks for clearing that up.
